Behind the Lens

Greetings,

Thank you for taking the time to visit.  My name is Sheralee and I am an auto-didactic photographer (meaning self-taught).

Several years ago I began to ask myself what had I ever done to develop my creative side...and the answer I found was this......I had spent my entire life caring and nurturing others, both professionally and personally.  I was a specialized Registered Nurse for 24 years and went to graduate school at the University of Florida (USF) training as a Clinical Social Worker and Researcher.  In other words, a natural born caregiver.

I have raised 3 sons and I am still raising my daughter.  Caring and nurturing others is an art form I can assure you, but the focus and effort is taxing.  So I searched my soul to find what it was creatively that drew me in, and photography was what I found.  Capturing the "spirit of life" is what speaks to  me and I am enthusiastically pursuing those moments.
So I began a journey of discovery that I am still on.  I am looking for my own eye and my own style of photography and these photos are my early attempts toward that end. I find photography an energizing endeavor that requires effort, learning and dedication to the craft...but it isn't taxing.  It's that other kind of creativity:)

Peace to you that passes understanding,

Sheralee

"I have learned that without spiritual growth and maturity there is very little emotional peace.  Therefore, in order to pass along some of the wisdom that was passed along to me I have developed a blog page.  I hope you can visit."
